Salesforce Inc said on Tuesday that it is working with ChatGPT creator OpenAI to add a chatbot feel to its Slack app, as well as to bring artificial intelligence to its traditional business processes.
The San Francisco company called EinsteinGPT said it will combine its AI with external partners, including OpenAI, to help businesses integrate email patterns, customer data and computer data. ChatGPT will also integrate with Slack to help users summarize conversations and handle other questions.
The move reflects a race among technology companies to equip their equipment with generative AI, which can create new texts, images and other content based on applications from past data.
Microsoft Corp, for example, has announced that technology from OpenAI – a company in which it invests – can generate meeting information in its Teams product, as well as suggest email responses to customers through in his Viva Sales subscription. I compete with Slack.
Clara Shih, a general manager at Salesforce, said in a press release that the announcement was in response to the needs of businesses for the development of technology. He said Salesforce’s data and AI models will help differentiate his offering.
Salesforce’s AI-powered tools will help companies “completely rethink how they engage with their customers,” he said.
Salesforce also announced a fund to invest in emerging AI startups.
