Shoaib Akhtar poked fun at his former Pakistan teammate, Kamran Akmal, on air, while making his comment on Babar Azam’s communication skills.
While talking on local television, Akhtar said that he wants Babar to be as big as India’s greatest player, Virat Kohli.
“I heard Kamran Akmal yesterday. He is our winner. He may be living with you. I listened to him and he pronounced the word ‘screen’ as ‘sakreen. You are in the media, so you have to notice these things,” Akhtar joked at the wicketkeeper.

“I had no intention of underestimating Babar Azam. I want Babar to be better as a brand. You compare him with Virat Kohli. Look at the way Kohli talks. I want Babar to be as good as Kohli,” he added.

Earlier this week, Akhtar criticized Babar’s communication skills in a recent interview with a local television station.
“I want to say this directly that Babar Azam should be the biggest brand of Pakistan, but why is he not the most famous in Pakistan? Because he can’t speak,” said Akhtar.
Kamran did not agree with Akhtar’s statement and came to Babar’s support.
“I think Shoaib doesn’t get enough screen time, that’s why he said something like that to stay on the headlines,” said Akmal.
“He is improving day by day in terms of his speech and media management. In fact, the number of promotions he is doing now does not match what Shoaib Akhtar has done,” added Akmal.
