The singer, Sonu Nigam filed a complaint against the son of the Indian MLA for allegedly attacking him and his team after his performance.
After his performance at a music festival in Chembur, Mumbai, organized by the leader of Shiv Sena (UBT), the politician’s son, Swapnil Phaterpekar, accused Nigam and his team, telling them get out of the situation. A picture has surfaced on the internet, allegedly showing the same picture, where the Nigam’s team is being mistreated.
Meanwhile, the Indian artist has filed a complaint about the incident at the Chembur Police Station.
As it is Indian Expressof the Kal Ho Naa Ho The singer spoke to reporters and said the altercation happened because the man wanted a selfie. Nigam, however, expressed his displeasure at the individual’s culture, saying: “Aap logon ka jo selfie aur photograph ka jo chala hua hai na, koi samajhta nahi hai“.
Then the artist explained what happened at the concert, “After the concert, I came down from the stage and a man picked me up. Then he pushed Hari and Rabbani who came to save me. Then I fell down the stairs. If I was on the side, I would have fallen too. Rabani would have died today if there were any iron lying on the ground. He was pushed in a way… You can see in the video… Even I was about to fall.”
Rabbani Khan was the son of Nigam’s maestro. He fell down from the stage and suffered injuries and was rushed to Zen Hospital in Chembur. Nigam added that he has filed a complaint so that people understand the consequences of their actions. The singer’s team said: “Sonu Nigam is shaken by this whole incident. He did not suffer any kind of injury. But Rabbani’s treatment continues.”
Meanwhile, the leader of Shive Sena (UBT), Prakash Phaterpekar, the father of the accused, said: “Sonu Nigam got down from the stage and some people rushed to take a selfie. At that time, the police tried to push those people away, but by mistake, one person from Sonu Nigam’s team was pushed by mistake. Nothing happened to Sonu Nigam,” reported India Today.
So far, the police are verifying the photo and information.
