In 2021, famous Indian filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali announced his dream project. This is Netflix’s business based on Lahore‘s Red Light District. Well, the first view is Gangubai Kathiawadi filmmaker Heeramandi ended up outside.
After a lot of speculation, Netflix India has finally revealed the full version of the series. Starring Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Ali and Sharmin Segal in pivotal roles, the series screams grandeur and grandeur – a niche Bhansali knows..
“Sanjay Leela Bhansali welcomes you to the world where courtesans and queens were treated,” the teaser said. The description of the clip reads, “The glory of Sanjay Leela Bhansali is combined with their amazing talent and beauty. Tell us a more amazing game, we are waiting!”
Dressed in heavy gold clothing and kundun jewellery, the director is reunited with his Padmaavat costumers, Rimpal and Harpreet. In another post, the actress wore black and copper lehenga cholis with antique stones.
Heeramandi explore the stories of honor and the hidden cultural reality of the Heeramandi, a red-hot district before the Partition of the subcontinent. The project is about love, betrayal, transition, and politics in the kothasand also promises Bhansali’s trademark larger-than-life sets, multi-faceted characters and soulful compositions.
“Heeramandi a milestone in my journey as a filmmaker. An epic, first-of-its-kind based series courtesy of Lahore. It’s a fast-paced, epic and all-encompassing series; so I’m worried but I’m happy to do it. I look forward to my partnership with Netflix and bring it Heeramandi to a global audience,” said Bhansali.
