I don’t want to talk about Babar Azam: Imad Wasim

The captain of Karachi Kings, Imad Wasim, has dismissed the idea that his team was too focused on targeting the captain of Peshawar Zalmi, Babar Azam, in the lead-up to the eighth edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League ( PSL).

Karachi Kings suffered their third defeat in HBL PSL 8 against Quetta Gladiators on Saturday.

In the press conference after the match, Imad was asked if his team was troubled by the many rivalries with Zalmi. However, the Karachi Kings captain refused to talk about the Zalmi captain.

Not so. Everything that comes out in the media, sometimes it’s true, sometimes it’s not. I don’t want to talk about Babar, because the way our team is playing, we have to focus on results,” said Imad.

We can’t finish the games, this is one of the most important things [for our defeats]. Second the game is not good when it dies. We only need one win to gain momentum and turn things around,” he added.

The Karachi captain also came out in support of his left-arm spinner, Mohammad Amir, who was recently criticized by former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi for his behavior on the field against the new players.

“He’s a fast driver who has to be aggressive. I don’t think he does anything on purpose, it happens in hot moments,” he said.

“If there is no opposition to him by the players, nothing will happen to me,” he added.

The entire tour team is ready to fight till the end for his freedom.

“I’m a captain, I’m not in a pressure situation, whether we lose or win, I promise you that we will never give up until we kicked out of the tournament,” he concluded.
