There is good news for Spider-Man fans! Marvel Studios confirmed that Tom Holland will return to his role as Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and the head of the studio Kevin Feige announced that they are working on his return.
“All I can say is we have the story,” Feige said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. “We have big ideas for that and our writers are now putting pen to paper.”
Feige did not reveal information about the future for Spidey, even if Holland’s role will be in the fourth edition of the Spider-Man franchise or an appearance in one of the Avengers films.
Holland last donned the Spider-Man costume in Spider-Man: No Way Home which was a box office hit grossing over $1.9 billion worldwide. The film saw the return of previous Spideys played by Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.
In early 2021, writer Amy Pascal teased that they are working on a new Spider-Man trilogy starring Tom Holland. “This is not the last film we will do with Marvel – [this is not] the final Spider-Man film,” Pascal told Fandango.
“We’re getting ready to make another Spider-Man movie with Tom Holland and Marvel. We think of this as three movies, and now we’re moving on to the next three. It’s not the last. here are our MCU movies.
Currently, the Marvel production list has Avengers: Secret Wars in the works, which is scheduled to be released on May 1, 2026. The 12-issue comic book ran in the middle of the 1980s and there is Spider-Man working with the other Avengers as Captain. America, Hawkeye, Captain Marvel, Hulk, Iron Man, and more.
