About 91,000 children under the age of five in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa missed the polio vaccine during the seven-day polio vaccination drive that began on January 16 in the province, a health ministry report said. health is indicated.
The report said that more than 71,530 children were not at home during vaccination in 36 districts of the province while 20,305 parents refused to give polio drops to their children.
It is said that the purpose of vaccination of 7.459 million children was organized for the whole week of the campaign in which 7.455 million children were given anti-polio drops and vitamin-A.
It said the most refusal cases were reported from Peshawar where 7,352 parents refused to vaccinate their children.
Similarly, 10,898 children were not at home during the visits of the disability groups. North Waziristan is the second district of the district where 2,919 parents refused to vaccinate their children, followed by Bannu with 2,251 cases of refusal.
Other districts of rejected cases include Charsadda with 215 cases, DI Khan 1,674 cases, Hangu nine cases, Haripur two cases, Karak 742 cases, Khyber 206 cases, Kohat 161 cases, Lakki Marwat 1,437 cases, Mardan 934 cases, Mohmand 1,241 cases, Nowshera 220 cases, Swabi 400 cases, Swat five cases, Tank 304 cases, Torghar four cases and South Waziristan 229 cases.
